Svetovni in evropski ustvarjalci podpirajo Direktivo

230 mednarodnih in evropskih avtorskih organizacij, med drugimi s področja filma, glasbe, založništva, gospodarstva in medijev, je na Evropski parlament naslovilo odprto pismo (dostopno tukaj), v katerem parlamentarce pozivajo, da upoštevajo dogovor trialoga in podprejo predlagano Direktivo o avtorskih pravicah na enotnem digitalnem trgu. Podpisniki pisma, med katerimi smo iz Slovenije  AIPA, SAZOR in Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije, poudarjamo, da bo Direktiva končno uredila kaotične razmere na enotnem digitalnem trgu, državljanom oz. uporabnikom pa bo omogočila boljši pristop do vsebin, in sicer v varnem spletnem okolju. "Gre za zgodovinski trenutek, ki ga moramo izkoristiti. Potrebujemo internet, ki je pravičen in trajnostno naravnan", menimo podpisniki.

AIPA je pismo podprla tako v okviru mednarodnih organizacij, v katerih aktivno sodeluje, kot tudi samostojno. Pridružujemo se mnenju, da je pred prihajajočimi volitvami v Evropski parlament napočil čas za ureditev položaja evropskih ustvarjalcev. Če do tega ne bo prišlo zdaj, smo v resnici zamudili in za nekaj let odložili zgodovinsko priložnost za ureditev pravic ustvarjalcev. Zato upamo, da je tudi to pismo -  podpisale so ga namreč praktično vse evropske in mednarodne avtorske organizacije - za odločevalce dovolj tehten razlog, da zberejo politično voljo in glasujejo za sprejem Direktive.
